From Washington State to the United Kingdom, DSFederal’s Ladder Safety App has helped to advance safe ladder deployment practices throughout the world. Since its 2013 release, DSFederal’s Ladder Safety App has crossed international borders, garnering praise from users in more than 20 countries, including Canada, the U.K., Singapore, and New Zealand. The app, released in May 2013 in support of CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), provides on-the-spot ladder positioning guidance using smartphone spatial orientation technology.
More than 50 organizations across the U.S. have also embraced the app as a critical resource in the field, including the Washington State Department of Labor and the Ohio Bureau of Workers’ Compensation. The app aligns with one of CDC’s main initiatives: increasing accessibility to practical information, a central tenet of government-wide mobile strategy.
