After a three-month competition consisting of several rounds of voting, DSFederal received an Honorable Mention for its Ladder Safety mobile app at the HHS Innovates Ceremony. HHS Secretary Sylvia Burwell recognized all six finalists at the ceremony. The award was the end result of multiple rounds of voting, both internally among HHS employees and by the public, leaving six finalists from an original pool of 18 nominees.
Secretary Burwell noted that the competition demonstrates “how HHS employees have overcome resource constraints, complicated schedules, and complex organizational dynamics to provide creative, replicable, and sustainable innovations that demonstrate outstanding leadership and promising results.”
DSFederal released the app in May 2013 in collaboration with CDC’s National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH,) The full list of finalists can be found on the HHS Innovates blog, here.
