Ladder Safety App exceeds 100,000 downloads

DSFederal's award-winning Ladder Safety App

DSFederal's Ladder Safety mobile app, developed in collaboration with CDC's National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health (NIOSH), has received more than 100,000 downloads since going live in June 2013.

According to the National Ladder Institute (NLI), ladder-related accidents account for thousands of injuries and over 300 deaths each year. Hoping to make a significant dent in those statistics, NLI has declared March 2017 Ladder Safety Awareness Month. With our Ladder Safety Application, DSFederal has long been a leader in efforts to raise awareness of safe practices for ladder use.

Working with NIOSH, DSFederal developed this award-winning mobile application, which uses smartphone technology to aid ladder users in safe and correct ladder deployment. The app, winner of the 2015 Federal Health IT Innovation Award, has been downloaded over 118,715 times as of Feb. 12, according to NIOSH. Compatible with Android and iOS mobile devices, it is free to download and available for government, industry, and private use.

As workers and homeowners take advantage of warmer temperatures to begin outdoor projects, it's important to remember that ladder safety accidents are preventable. By downloading the Ladder Safety Application, and reviewing NIOSH-recommended ladder safety precautions, ladder users can avoid accidents and get the job done safely.
