In collaboration with the Office of the National Coordinator for Health IT (ONC), DSFederal digitized the Interoperability Standards Advisory (ISA), a comprehensive resource that categorizes and describes evolving interoperability standards. In its new online format, which went live in December, the ISA has sparked an online dialogue around health IT standards and implementation specifications in clinical settings.
The HHS Office of the National Coordinator for Health Information Technology (ONC) is charged with facilitating use of advanced health information technology throughout the U.S. Positioned at the forefront of health IT policy, it serves healthcare organizations and providers nationwide, supporting implementation of healthcare information technology and promoting electronic exchange of health information. The ONC resides within the HHS Office of the Secretary.
DSFederal is proud to support ONC’s initiative to offer an interactive and navigable online version of the ISA, which allows users to comment and moderators to publish and respond to comments. Working with ONC stakeholders, our developers built and deployed an online, interactive ISA, with permission-based access for users, authors, moderators, and administrator/superusers. ONC can now make real-time changes to ISA content; and readers can register to submit comments, which are taken into consideration by ONC’s authors as they edit and update the ISA.
The online ISA represents a small portion of DSFederal’s ongoing work supporting the ONC, and reinforces our position as a leader in supporting Health IT development and implementation. DSFederal is pleased to contribute to Health IT efforts for ONC, the HHS Health Resources Service Administration (HRSA), FDA, and others.
