DSFederal CEO Sophia Parker receives business award in Taiwan

Updated: Jan 8, 2020

DSFederal CEO Sophia Parker returned to her native Taiwan last week to accept the Hua-guan Award honoring the world's top Chinese businesswomen. Winners traveled to Taiwan from the United States, Cambodia, Austria, Australia, Brazil, Thailand, and within Taiwan. The Global Federation of Chinese Business Women, an international organization of ethnic Chinese businesswomen, grants the awards to recognize successful Taiwan-born women for their achievements in business, philanthropy, and civic diplomacy--"A different kind of soft power," as Taiwan Panorama describes it.

Sophia writes; "Although we know that women now graduate at higher rates than men, and represent nearly half of the workforce, we also know that we still have a long way to go to break the glass ceiling. Only 22% of the board members of S&P 500 companies are women, and women account for only 7% of CEOs of Fortune 1000 companies. I want to encourage women and help them to develop their unique personal leadership qualities. Ultimately, I hope that stories like mine will not be unusual, and that women who achieve success in business will be commonplace."

We are very proud of our CEO. Congratulations to Sophia and all of this year's Hua-guan winners!
