NIH Training Center
Improving the student experience at NIH
-
The Problem
The NIH Training Center is the flagship enterprise-wide organization for professional development across NIH, serving all 27 institutes and centers. With a robust training program offering over 1,000 training deliveries, NIH sought to quantitatively measure the effectiveness of its training to uncover areas for improvement.
-
Our Solution
We created and implemented a more comprehensive evaluation that assessed student feedback at every touchpoint throughout the course delivery and post-course process. We set two goals: Increase our evaluation response rate by 40% and increase class enrollment for training by 20%.
-
The Results
Our evaluation response rate increased by 72%, exceeding our goal. By implementing a more precise evaluation, we were able to determine the most pressing student needs and take action. As a result, added nine new classes to reduce wait lists and increased its offering of post-course resources for students.
