Sophia Parker is the Chairwoman and Owner of DSFederal. She has more than 25 years of experience in government contracting, executing roles in capture, program management, and talent development. 

She founded DSFederal in 2007 as a boutique government contractor distinguished by its sharp focus on customer service. Her keen understanding of people and how best to take care of them catalyzed DSFederal’s growth, leading to its present employment of over 125 employees in four states. Her entrepreneurial efforts have also garnered a variety of accolades including the SBA’s Maryland Small Business Person of the Year award in 2015, DSFederal’s recognition as the SBA’s “Top Woman Owned Small Business” in 2016, and the Montgomery County Chamber of Commerce’s award for Small Business Leader of the Year in 2017. 

Prior to establishing DSFederal, Ms. Parker was an Account Manager for SAIC where she coordinated financial management systems software development for the CDC and HRSA. She also supervised a grants management systems development project for NIH and fostered new business within HHS. 

Ms. Parker is a graduate of the Harvard Business School’s Owner & President’s Program, and has a B.A. from Soochow University.
