DSFederal team members from the Office of Extramural Research (OER) Scientific and Program Support Services and the National Institutes of Health Training Center (NIHTC) Support Services projects both received the prestigious Office of the Director (OD) Award for outstanding achievement in recent weeks.
NIHTC Project Manager Keturah Dubar, Administration Support Specialist Keria Moorehead, and Technical Support Specialist Glenn Dempster received honors at an Award Ceremony on November 7. Also honored that day was Tracy Dowtin, Executive Assistant of the NIH Early Stage Investigator Committee for her diligent work supporting the ESI Committee.
Keturah’s team, which helps organize and deliver NIH training programs, was honored for their outstanding coordination of operations during the recent move of the NIH Training Center to White Flint, MD. The team ensured continuity in the delivery of classes, scheduled movers, and coordinated with the NIH Central Information Technology (CIT) team to relocate servers, make technical recommendations, and set up audiovisual equipment in the new space.
“It was a surprise but an honor to be recognized by the Deputy Director of NIH for our efforts,” said Keturah. “The move was a lot of work and planning, but it was all well worth it. There is so much work that takes place within this community and I’m so happy to be a part of it.

One week prior, Tracy Dowtin, Executive Assistant supporting the NIH Early Stage Investigator (ESI) Committee at OER, received the OD award for her work reviewing extension requests for researchers. Tracy is responsible for uploading request documents into the database and communicating the committee’s final decision to researchers. Tracy’s team works with the OER providing scientific and program support services, including consultative and subject matter expertise in program operations.
DSFederal is immensely pleased to continue supporting NIH as one of the world’s foremost medical research centers and we continue to be proud of our team members who display outstanding achievement in various roles at the agency!
